About Us
The idea of Lifeboat Foundation Trust germinated in 2012, when students of the AMET University came together to help a person in a medical emergency and in dire financial need.Progressively, the group of students engaged in welfare activities in the city of Chennai acting on local news about people who needed funds for medical emergencies or who were not in a position to continue studying on account of lack of funds.
Funding is achieved primarily through their local network of friends and family, as well as their colleagues from the Merchant Navy. Eventually, the Lifeboat Foundation was registered as a Non-Government Organizational Trust as per the Indian Trust Act of 1882. The LBF trust is 80g certified.
